May's UFO finish and first finish for June

Very late to post this ....... I have had the rows for this wall hanging since the end of 2006, it was a row X row round robin organised at the Craft Forum.  I wasn't sure how to fit the rows together so it sat for many years until a friend helped me decide what rows would work for the space I had, there are another 3 rows that would just have made this too large for a wall hanging.  I sewed it together in 2011 and then it sat until I found time to quilt, bind and finish it.  which as you can see I have now done. It hangs proudly in our bedroom.  One of the other rows is being made into a table runner the other two possibly cushions, haven't decided yet.

My first UFO finish for June is a Janelle Wind Frilly Dilly bag without the frills.  I love the shape of the bag but didn't want the frills so I decided to raw edge applique a flower on the front.  This has been waiting to be finished for over 2 years.  So pleased to have the Friday night sewing with friends group to encourage me to get some sewing done.

April's UFO finishes and a baby shower pressie

I managed to get two more UFO finishes done this April if i can keep going at two a month I will knock quite a big hole in my UFO list.  I started a weekly sewing group and this has helped me keep some time aside to get my UFO's done.

Firstly this table runner has been designed (by me) and waiting to be sewn together for a few years.  I used an Authentic by Sweetwater charm pack and have enough left to make a 2nd table runner.
These hand towels are the last of the pile I started on last year.  Two of these are heading off to Shirley as part of a swap, she made me some dish cloths and these hand towels are in return.

Went to a baby shower today for my nephew and his wife.  I decided to make them a Very hungry caterpillar kick rug to go with a few other VHC items.  It turns out she loves green and VHC was one of her favourite books.

February SIF finishes & FMQ challenge January

I have joined TWO challenges this year, the FMQ challenge at SewCalGal and the Sew Its Finished UFO challenge.

This tablecloth is a complete for both challenges as I have used the free flowing leaves from FMQ's January challenge on the Iowa girl tablecloth I started over 5 years ago. The top was finished the year I started it but it sat waiting to be quilted. I finally had the courage to quilt it after watching January's tutorial. I wanted something more than the stippling that I could just manage. The quilting is not fantastic but its a start, I really am looking forward to improving my FMQ by trying each of the tutorials given over the course of this year.

I finished the binding last night .

These hand towels have been sitting in a bag for two years - the tops were sewn but had to have the towels added. I finished those last week.....

So that's finish 5 & 6 for me. Yayyyyyyyyyyyy.
