On Sunday Haylee & I went to the engagement party of her School Friend Amy. Haylee is to be one of Amy's bride maids when she gets married next year.

It was a nice chance for Haylee to catch up with Amy - who at the moment is living in Townsville, but will be moving back at the end of the year and Sarah who lives in Sydney.

Today's blog is one that I am sure many of my sewing readers would be very familiar with - The Moda Bake Shop . I just love browsing the archive to see what they do with the different Moda ranges. I get so much inspiration from this blog and have earmarked many of their projects to do one day, I have made a few items and have bought Moda fabric after seeing a project using it even if I dont make that project.

I am also going to share with you Scrap of Faith -a Christian Craft forum that I have been a part of for many years. A few years ago I was asked tobe on the Design team to contribute OTP projects . We originally started as a scrapping site but have now moved into all crafts. We believe that we can and should take a scrap of faith into everything that we do, including hosuework, baking, gardening and of course craft. This year we are focussing on encouragement and are about to launch our new monthly challenges.

We are hosting a retreat next February at the Tops Conference centre, Stanwell Tops.

AS promised here are the tags I made on Saturday.

Scrap day - blogtoberfest day 18

Back with the promised photos from Yesterdays scrap day. Now neither of these photos are perfect (I am hoping Lou or Cathy have better photos) in the first one Cass is hiding behind Lou's head and in the second Lou is looking - well I am not sure where she is looking but it's not at the camera.

It was Tracy T's first meet up of the SOF ladies and she fitted right in and looked like she had a
wonderful day with us. We certainly enjoyed having Tracy with us.

Unfortunately Tracey S was very unwell so Marion took her home early - actually they were leaving as soon as we took the photos.

We arrived around 10.30 and had morning tea then scrapped till 1.30 when we stopped for lunch. Had a break at 4.30 then scrapped till 6.30 when we all packed up and enjoyed a lovely BBQ tea cooked by Lou's DH John. Thanks John for cooking our dinner and TY Lou & John for allowing us to invade your home.

I managed to complete 3 wedding LO's and 4 tags. Will keep those pics for another days post.

Blogtoberfest day 15 Tin of Hope tags

Yesterday I promised you photos of the tags I made for the SOF tins of Hope. First I will explain what Tins of Hope are. AS most of you know I belong to a Christian Scrap booking forum called Scrap of Faith (SOF). When any of our members become aware of someone in need of encouragement we send them an altered tin full of Bible verse tags. I usually only alter the tins (Tags are not my thing) but we are so low on suitable tags and I have a request for two tins which will be handed over on Saturday.

So these are my attempt at tags. The above pic is the beginning of a tag - the Bible verse. The I add just bits to scraps or in most of these old Basic Grey tags (see pics below).

Friendship Swap

Look at this wonderful array of gorgeous things that the beautiful Ali sent me for the Friendship swap Sal was running on Scrap Of Faith

The little hold all was the first sewing item that Ali has done for years, its so beautifully done and will sit on my cutting desk to hold all those little items that I need to have close. It was full of buttons, lace and ribbon and also held a little book on funny scrapping stories and a block of Lindt choc.

Thanks Ali I love it all.

Scrap Of Faith Retreat Layouts

Finally have had time to upload LO's from the Scrap of Faith retreat. I am very excited to tell you that I completed 4, yes you read right 4, Layouts. As most of you know I am an off the page artist so to do this many LO's in one weekend was a big thing for me.

The theme for the weekend was His Princess so this first LO is to celebrate that I am Gods child, He is the King that makes me his Princess.

had to scrap a prince in your life, with lots of bling and no patterned paper, could stamp you own and I did that on the bottom - I used a Stamp from the gorgeous Christian stamp set from Scripture by design http://www.scripturebydesign.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10&products_id=47 and added lots of bling to it (thanks Lou).


This LO was from last months challenge on SOF. I had to scrap about my family and shat it meant to grow up in a Christian/non christian home. This was quite a hard LO to do as I had to face a few facts and write down things that I don't want everyone to read. But God really challenged me to do this one. in fact there is nothing about the LO that is me - I hate Brown and yellow and I think the braid I used is quite revolting BUT it all came together to make a LO that I am very happy with. And yes I do really love it. Did I mention that I was working on it at 1am - I gave up at 2am and got up at 6am in the morning to finish the journaling - which I found to be the hardest part. This was also the LO I shared in our worship service. Tracey asked us all to bring something to share that we had created over the weekend that God had put on our heart to share with others. I would really like to thank Ali for her encouragement to finish the journaling on this one. Love you beautiful girl.
