Thankful for Friends Blog Hop

Welcome to Scrapbook News and Review Magazine's A Faith Perspective Thankful for Friends Faith Blog Hop. Today, we're out in force on the internet -- showing our faith and giving the glory to God. United, we stand as Christian paper crafters and blog owners to make a presence on the internet for all to see. We're celebrating the theme of friends and we're happy to share our projects with you based on the verse:

"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. " Ecc4:9-10a

If you're just joining in on the fun, you can find the start of the train
here First, we would like to take a moment to thank our generous co-sponsors: Layers of Color Stamps, Gina K Designs Stamps and Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. Together with Scrapbook News and Review Magazine, these companies have donated some wonderful prizes for today's blog hop.

Prizes? Oh, yeah! There will be three lucky grand prize winners for today's event.

To enter, simply hop to the blogs of all of the participating staff members of Scrapbook News and Review Magazine, take note of the staff member's name, and leave a comment on their posts. Then send us an email at

games@scrapbooknewsandreview.com listing each of the staff members who participated in today's hop. It's that easy. All entries must be received by Monday, November 16, 2009 at 12 noon, EST and three winners will be randomly chosen to win.

What are the prizes?

One $100 gift certificate from Layers of Color Stamps AND a 6 month subscription to Scrapbook News and Review Magazine.

One basket of goodies -- four stamp sets from Gina K Designs and a 6 month subscription to Scrapbook News and Review Magazine.

One set of digital stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and a 3 month subscription to Scrapbook News and Review Magazine.

In addition, every participating staff member of Scrapbook News and Review Magazine will offer a free one-month subscription to the magazine to one of their lucky visitors by simply leaving a comment on their blog. That's a lot of chances to win, so let's get to the Hop!

I really am very thankful for the friends God has blessed me with. One wonderful lady really stands out, I would not be the person I am if not for the friendship of this beautiful lady Esther (& of course Gods saving grace). She has been my steadfast supporter, encourager, teacher, spiritual mentor & prayer warrior for many years but has really become a great, close & fun friend in the last 18 months. We have supported & cried with each other through some pretty trying times and of course have laughed and joked with each other in the good times. She has taught me so much about God's love and his goodness to us (especially in the hard times). She has a gentle & beautiful spirit and a way with words. I truly love this lady and am very thankful that God has blessed my life with her Friendship.

To celebrate our blog hop I want to share my a tutorial of my Bouquet of friends with you. This is a great way of showing all of your friends of faith off in a fun and (I think) very pretty way. To download the instructions click
here .

I am also going to have a little giveaway of one of my fibre bookmarks and a mini book of bible verses (see post below for a photo of the book and bookmarks). All you need to do is leave a comment for an entry (I am happy to post anywhere), dont forget to leave me a way of contacting you if you are the winner or makes sure you come back Monday evening.

The next stop on this blog hop is: Liz at Right Brain Madness

Final day of blogtoberfest - giveaway & a sneak preview

Firstly I want to thank you all for joining me on my blogtoberfest journey. It certainly was a challenge to come up with a different entry for each day. Yesterday we set up our Christmas store in Stockland - I was so tired by the time I got home (after a very early start) that I just didn't have it in me to blog yesterday, but that was only one day of the month (of course I dint start till day 5).

Anyway on to today's post and giveaway.

I have had these duchess sets in my possession since Johns mum moved down here in 2004. I have never been a fan of these but kept them for crafting. This week I decided I should share them as I know many of my blog and forum friends like vintage things ( I am not sure if they are old enough to be called vintage).

So that brings me to the giveaway I will be giving away one of these duchess sets (your choice) and a second prize of the two short oval runners
(12" X 5"). I am bot sure how old they are or even if they belonged to John's mum or one of his grandma's

You know the drill one entry for your comments on THIS post, one entry if you become or are a follower and one entry if you share this on your blog & I will add an extra entry if you send someone to my blog.

I will draw this next Sunday 8 November.

NOW a sneak preview of a tutorial coming up during this week on my miss nance & beyond blog.

Some shares

Over the last few weeks I have done a little scrapping. I made a small canvas just like this one for a gift and one for me. I still have one canvas left to do & I am going to do that this week and share it on my Tutorial blog as my first project. But for now I have an upload over there on OTP tips. So pop over and have a little looksy.

I have also completed another 4 of my Wedding LO's. AS you can see my LO style is still very simple and I don't use a lot of journaling. Sometime the photo says it all.

I love this pic of Simone looking over my shoulder as I am signing the Marriage certificate saying "what ya doing Aunty Gail". I may add a little journaling to this one, not sure.

My mum just looked so lovely and very happy for me on my wedding day.

I felt I needed to journal on this one as the situation was quite funny and needed recording.
"When it came time to give away the bride Dad missed his cue and left us waiting for some time & then finally blurted out Oh I guess I do"
No further progress has been made on my Sparkling Gemstones quilt but I am hoping to get to it on my days off this week, so I should have some more pics later on.
Thanks for popping by - don't forget to leave a message and I would love for you to become one of my followers.
