UFO challenge list & the long awaited giveaway.

Last year I joined Sew Its Finished UFO challenge. I had a list of 19 projects I wanted to finish but am ashamed to say I didn't finish even ONE of them. So I decided to have another go this year and have found that I actually had 26 projects at least cut out waiting to be made/finished

. I also added 5 new projects and a few unfinished fundraiser items tot he list.

So here it is for all of blog land to see my UFO list:-

After compiling this list I knew i gad to come up with a plan to get at least a few projects made. So I started with the project with the least needing doing and that is the pictured Violetta table runner. All it needed was its binding sewn, I stayed up all night Monday 2nd January to finish it. Now back to my plan to wade through my UFO list. I have purchased 7 pretty boxes and have sorted all my projects out into categories ie table runner, bags etc ( my quilts have been living in a crate for the last few years and are still there in the linen press). My next plan it to take one item from each box that has the least work to do and start there. At the moment I have a fig & plum table runner in my work basket behind my night time chair, I am 1/4 way through the hand binding.

For the quilt tops I have a friend who has a long arm quilter machine that she allows you to go and quilt your own for $10 an hour so I am planning to book in every two months to get my quilting done, hopefully I can bind each quilt in the months between. The double bed quilt I want professionally done but seeing as my son has moved back into what was the spare room and that quilt was for that bed there is not so much of a hurry to have it done. When one of my kids plan to move out I might do it then.

It's giveaway day

Today starts the Giveaway Day that sew mama sew is hosting. Starts 9am (Eastern US time) on Monday 13 December. Lots of blogs and shop are joining in and offering some fabulous prizes.

Blogtoberfest day 27 - celebration

Our 25th wedding anniversary celebrations started a day early with my sister and her partner Steven turning up expectantly to share a drink with us for our anniversary and they bought this dirty great big box of chocolates and bubbly. Davina and her SIL made this for us.









John bought me this gorgeous silver jewellery set with little purple gems in it. Very pretty.
Apart form our night away I bought John a silver anniverary frame and popped the most recent (until last night) photo of the two of us in it.













After I finished work we headed to Gerringong and our night away from home. While we were there John booked his & Haylee's trip to Ireland next Easter.



We stayed at the beautiful Bellachara Boutique Motel in Gerringong and had dinner in their restaurant. I forgot to take photos of our meals.

I had roasted beetroot with puy lentils and fetta salad s, followed by beef fillets with a herbed polenta cake and baby vegetables and for dessert a passion fruit parfait with a sesame tuille.

John had brie & Riesling soup with walnuts and pan fried ocean trout.















On the way home today we did a little shopping. I came away with 2 shrugs, a red & a purple one. AND two pairs of shoes. I finally found a pair of black sandals that I can wear to work (only been looking for 2 years for the right pair) and how gorgeous are these little orange shoes, you can wear them as I have on here or put the strap behind your ankles.

When did you start blogging

A post in the craft forum made me think about when I started my blog. So I went for a looksy. This my first post .

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooo when did you start blogging, why (my reason is in my first post) and what was your first post - link to it as I did for those of us who are sticky beaks like me. Make a post in your blog about it and link back to mine. I am very curious.
