Sour Dough Bread

Jenny from Elefantz posted a recipe some weeks ago for her sour dough bread. I decided last week to give it a go.
First you start with the mother plant that you add to each day for 5-7 days.

This was what was left over from the mother, even after I took out the starter for the next plant, so I will attempt to make another loaf tomorrow..

I really wasn't happy with the mix it was too wet, but decided to cook it anyway. I used a mix of barley and a wholegrain bread flour mix I had.
All ready for the oven.

And the finished product less 3 pieces.
It had an interesting taste but Royce quite liked it, Haylee wasn't so sure.
Will see how we go tomorrow.
Thanks for the inspiration Jenny.

It's definitely an acquired taste, Gail, but once you get the right quantities to suit your method (hand or breadmaker) and your climate (humid or dry) it tastes amazing!
