Swapping again

its been a while since I had joined a swap. I felt I needed a break to do some sewing for me. But this year my craft forum have had a few interesting small swaps.

The first one I joined was a teeny tiny swap. this gift had to fit inside a normal business size envelope with only 50c postage.

My partner was Sandra and she made me the cutest little girl - isn't she sweet.

I in turn made her this little wall hanging with one of my favourite Bible verses on it, Proverbs 17:17 - a Friend loves at all times.

I have know Sandra through the forum for a few years now and thought this was a great verse to share wit her.

The current swap is a cornucopia. A WHAT I hear you say. Its a fancy fabric cone.

I made this cornucopia for Jo. It was a heap of fun.

How I made it was I layered apiece of crystal organza, felt, a piece of patterned chiffon, a stamped piece of handmade paper and then another piece of crystal organza. between the paper and organza I have place a strip of a plastic doily and some fabric flowers. I then stamped the outer piece of organza and then began to sew braid, ric rac, lace flowers and then I quilted it in different places. Sewed it together to form a cone. had my friend the shoe repair man punch holes int he side to add the cord. I then added a little mirror, Flowers and butterfly to finish it off.

I was so happy with how my first cornucopia turned out that I am bound to make more. So look out one could be your chrissy pressie.

I haven't received mine as yet so look for my next post.

No Gail I had never heard of them, but they sure look lovely. Love your wall hanging and couldn't think of a nicer verse to stitch on it. Nice to see an update on your blog.

How clever Gail with all your sewing (the bible verse is adorable) and yes that little girl is TOO cute! I haven't sewn for so very long, in fact my machine is broken *blush* and sad to say scrapping and photography have taken over for me and I just haven't had it fixed. I really must....

Hugs and God bless!
