On arrival Haylee & I wandered over to the lake and a walk along the Lakes edge. We did pop our toes in but it was a little chilly at 12 degrees - its a glacial made & fed lake.
Dinner was at the Skyline Restaurant at Bob's Peak overlooking Queenstown and the only to get ther is by Gondola.
Mary & I in the gondola on the way up.
We had a choice after tea to catch the bus back to the motel or walk. Haylee, Peter, Marilyn & I decided to walk down this set of steps and along the wharf
.
While we were wandering along the wharf I saw this group of young guys eating ice creams with towels wrapped around their waists, I noticed they were all wearing South African jackets. So being the sticky beak I am I asked the guy at the front of the photo who they were. He told me they were the South African cricket team. i asked if I could have a photo with them. As I walked away i thought they were joking with me as I was not aware that the under 19's world cup was being held in NZ and this was in fact the South African under 19's team.
The next day was a free day. NO WAKE UP CALL, yay. Except that the person who had our room b4 us did NOT turn off their 6am radio alarm. So on our ONE sleep in day the radio comes on at funnily enough a Christian radio station. We did both fall back asleep and got up after 8am. had a late breaky a then did some wandering around town. This park was were we had lunch.
