2010- the year of the handmade

Firstly HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL

I hope and pray that you all had a lovely Christmas and a safe beginning to the New year.
My Christmas day started with our traditional Comber champagne seafood breaky after we opened our gifts (see pic below for my pressies) followed by lunch with 20 of my family members.

Including two of my 3 brothers - Phillip & Tony, and one sister - Davina.

Here I am with two bottles of baileys, my hand luggage and manicure kit in my lap. I also received a pair of purple shorts and t-shirt.

NOW to 2010 - I have decided that 2010 is going to be the year of the hand/home made. I am planning to make as many cards as i can - have already made 6 - so that's a good start. I would also like to make as many presents as I can. I have plans to make cushions, table runners, these cute little penny purses to put tiny pressies in, bags and probably many altered tins and canvases.
Another of our plans is to start cutting back on buying prepared foods. So I am hoping to start making my own jams, curry pastes, tomato sauces for pasta etc.
Today I made a start and from the rhubarb I have growing in my herb/tomato garden I made 2 lots of jam. Rhubarb & Raspberry and rhubarb & apple.
I haven't made labels or put their little hats on yet but I must say I am pleased with these 6 3/4 jars of jam. The apple & rhubarb is the prettiest looking jam but I am sure its going to taste marvelous.
Now I am off to look up some free label sites.
